I want to speak about something that comes from the ancient philosophies of India, the beautiful Sanskrit expression Sat Chit Ananda.
Sat means truth or pure being the infinite and timeless existence.
Chit means consciousness or awareness the light of understanding.
Ananda means bliss the natural joy that arises from within.
Together they describe our true nature, a state of peace and wholeness that already lives inside us.
When we reconnect with this truth, even for a moment, we experience a sense of inner stillness and quiet joy. That’s the feeling we search for so often in daily life, the feeling of being enough, simply as we are.
In English we could translate Sat Chit Ananda as: “Happiness is the true awareness of being.”
Why this matters in practice?
For me, this idea is one of the central teachings of yoga. Yoga invites us to reach a place of inner happiness without a reason, to discover the power that already exists within us.
When we remember that this peace and joy are infinite, we stop looking for them outside and begin to feel supported from within. This awareness brings an energetic shift.
When we connect to the energy of Ananda, all the centers in our body begin to open, like windows letting in fresh air. Our life-force flows more freely , it’s a soft expansion that nourishes both body and soul.
Energy and Ego
Ananda is the highest frequency.Ego, on the other hand, vibrates at a lower one.
And we are always moving between the two.The more we connect to Sat Chit Ananda to truth, awareness, and joy the more balance we find.
Energy starts to circulate smoothly, bringing healing and lightness to the body.It supports us in experiencing health, creativity, and emotional balance. It helps us trust again, even when fear (ego) appears. It reminds us that “we are the happiness we seek..” Rupert Spira
